Frequently Asked Questions

Why publish a magazine?

In an age where digital media dominates, we made a deliberate choice to create a print magazine—because some art deserves more than a fleeting moment on a screen. The toy photography community is filled with incredibly talented creators who pursue their craft purely for the love of storytelling and artistic expression. While social media has played a crucial role in building and connecting this community, it also comes with challenges. Algorithms dictate visibility, content gets buried in endless scrolling, and meaningful work often fades too quickly from view.

We believe these artists and their work deserve more. Our magazine serves as a dedicated, physical space to showcase and celebrate toy photographers beyond the limits of social media. A printed publication offers permanence, giving creators a tangible platform to share their passion, reach new audiences, and see their work presented in a way that truly honors their effort and creativity.

By shining a spotlight on as many individuals as possible, we’re not just publishing a magazine—we’re building an enduring archive of talent, passion, and artistry that can be appreciated time and time again. In a world of digital distractions, print remains a powerful, lasting way to tell stories and celebrate the artists who make this community thrive.

How many issues will you do?

Our plan is to publish quarterly:
SPRING: Shipping April 2025
SUMMER: Shipping July 2025
FALL: Shipping October 2025
WINTER: Shipping January 2025

Will you offer subscriptions?

Once we are established and have a few issues under our belt, we hope to offer subscriptions for those interested.

Where do you ship?

We currently are only set up to ship to the United States.

Why don’t you ship internationally?

International shipping is very expensive, and will be much more than the price of the magazine. We hope to have an e-pub option soon for the international community. In the meantime, if you live outside of the US and just have to have a physical copy of the magazine, no matter what the cost, contact us directly.

Can I advertise in your magazine?

Yes, if you or your business are active in the Toy Photography community, we’d be happy to make a space for you. Please contact deadman@LegionsMagazine.com for pricing and availability for advertising in future issues.

HOw do I submit photos or articles?

Keep an eye out on the @ToyMercs and @ToyMercsLegions social media pages for ways to be involved!

Why the price?

This is a small passion project funded by people who just want to see this succeed. At the moment the focus is just covering costs to get the book out into the hands of the community.
